Methodology.

Rates are built two ways. Where we have a per-carrier, per-city import, the rows on a city page are labeled filed and come straight from that import. Where we only have a statewide average, we spread that average across a small set of default insurers and label every row state-average estimate, so it is never presented as a filed number.

Credit tier and driving record are always modeled adjustments layered on top of the filed or estimated base rate. They use published industry-typical multipliers, not a specific carrier's rating plan, and are labeled as modeled everywhere they appear.

Data is refreshed as new imports land. Each city page's rate table reflects the most recent import for that city. Your own rate will differ based on your driving record, exact address, credit tier, and the specific coverage limits you select.

Company pages also show, where available, the NAIC complaint index: how many complaints an insurer receives relative to its market size, with 1.00 as the industry baseline. This comes from published NAIC-based comparisons, not our own filed data, and is shown alongside the year it reflects.

If you notice a rate that looks wrong or outdated, get in touch and we'll check it.
